📢 Important Info

Greetings!

We are off to an amazing start to the 2025-26 school year! Some logistical reminders as we begin our third week:

  • Elementary morning drop-off begins at 8:55 am (if your child is not in Morning Program); please do not have students here before then as we have no campus supervision.
  • Any time you are waiting in the pick-up area for students, please turn your car off. DO NOT LET YOUR CAR IDLE FOR LONG PERIODS. We are trying to keep students and staff healthy and car exhaust fumes are not safe.
  • When walking onto campus, make sure you park in the parking lot; do not leave cars unattended in the driving lanes during drop-off and pick-up times.
  • All SELS visitors, classroom volunteers, chaperones and drivers on fieldwork MUST check in at the office to receive a badge. You need to bring your driver’s license with you. Feel free to ask anyone in the office if you need assistance with this process.
  • Lots of fieldwork coming up! Please be sure your student is prepared: dressed appropriately for the weather, proper footwear, sunscreen, snacks and/or lunch packed.

Big thanks for your help with these matters. Besides helping our program run more effectively, you are setting your children up for success and preparing to make the best of our upcoming school year.
 

📆 Our Schedule This Week

Monday: SELS Board Meeting ~ 5:30pm in Conference Room A at the District Office
Tuesday: Community Meeting & PTC Coffee Cart ~ 9:15 am. Parents are encouraged to attend Community Meeting and stop by the PTC Coffee Cart to enjoy free coffee, chat with parents and purchase SELS spiritwear.
 

📆 Mark Your Calendar

9/15: Picture Day ~ Order forms will be sent home this week with your student.
9/16: PTC Meet & Greet ~ 6:00pm at Zano's Patio. Come meet the PTC team and learn about volunteer opportunities! We'll share how we support our school community and how you can be part of making SELS even better for our kids. Kids are welcome to join!
9/17: Minimum Day ~ Middle school release 11:45 am; Elementary school release 1:00 pm (this information is also available on the Quick Reference Sheet from the Family Handbook). Summit Swirl Fundraiser! Take advantage of the minimum day, grab your family and friends, and head to Summit Swirl in the Savemart Shopping Center! They will donate 20% of their sales from the entire day to SELS PTC. 
9/25: SELS PTC Meeting ~ 5:30 pm at the Lodge in Tahoe Donner.

💡 Reminders

  • Be sure that you read/bookmark/download/flag David Manahan's Back to School post so you have all the pertinent info for this school year, and so you can refer to it when questions arise.


  • IMPORTANT: If you were accepted at SELS in the Free & Reduced Lottery, you MUST sign up for the Free and Reduced Meals program ASAPIt is mandatory to sign up for the Free & Reduced Meals program, even if lunches are free for all or if you do not plan to use the services, as per our Lottery Policy. We also realize that circumstances may change for families. If you feel that you might qualify for the Free and Reduced Meals program, we encourage you to apply even if you do not plan to use the services, as this helps our funding per student. **Please note that you must fill out a new application each year in order to qualify. If you have questions about the application process, you will need to contact the Food Services Dept directly.**
