Vision:

At SELS, we envision a vibrant community where Latino families thrive through the power of expeditionary learning. By breaking down barriers to participation, we connect families to EL experiences that inspire growth and belonging. Together, we engage deeply and personally with the EL model, building bridges of trust, collaboration, and shared discovery that empower every family to participate fully in our learning adventures.

Overview of the Promotoras Program at SELS

Started in the spring of 2025, the Promotoras program at SELS involves bilingual parent volunteers (Promotoras) who connect the school with Latino families, encouraging participation in Expeditionary Learning activities. The program:

- Fosters family engagement through culturally relevant communication.

- Strengthens the SELS Latino community by nurturing meaningful relationships

- Aligns with SELS’s EL model by incorporating hands-on, real-world learning experiences
